Ubuntu 10.04 or Windows 7?

I would prefer if you only answered if you have tried both out. I for one prefer Ubuntu

  1. Definitely prefer windows 7. I tried Ubuntu once, and the lack of support for automatically finding drivers for anything was enough for me to uninstall it.

  19. I used Ubuntu for a year. It couldn't get into it at call. It had some cool features. Not having to worry about virus and shit like that was nice. I liked the ability to download stuff and install it without using the browser if you just new the get name of the program. The download center too was nice.
But it really wasn't faster than windows, or more stable. Wine is only good for some games, and what it came down to was starcraft 2. When i played SC2 on wine it ran horrible and crashed alot. I get 2x the framerate with same settings with windows.

  21. Ubuntu is a really shitty Linux distro if you ask me. I would personally recommend the Debian based Mint version. Really good stuff.

  22. I love Ubuntu, but it was a lot of hassle for me to get a lot of programs to work. Windows 7 is decent and works well.
